Triathlete Christina Wilfinger

Triathlete Christina Wilfinger talks about her personal bests

Hello, Christina, what made you choose the triathlon?

I injured myself three years ago while running. Swimming and cycling seemed like good alternatives while I was convalescing. It wouldn’t have suited me at all to do nothing. At the time, a friend’s father was doing the Iron Man challenge and this gave me the idea to try it out for myself.

Were you always so good at sport?

Yes, I love burning off energy. I’ve also been doing Crossfit for a year. It’s a type of strength training that perfectly complements endurance sport and it’s also a great balance to my work.

How do you overcome your weaker self?

I love sport. But I do have to push myself to go swimming when it’s cold or go cycling and running when it’s raining. I like training as part of a group – it motivates me. I make more effort when I’m sort of competing with other people.

I have never thought of giving up.

How do you set your goals?

I do it with my trainer. We set ourselves a training goal and then I work towards reaching it. For me it’s motivating to see myself getting better all the time like this.

What do you eat?

I’ve been vegetarian for 17 years. Three months before a big competition I cut out industrial sugar and wheat products. Normally I love Italian food – for example I like eating spaghetti with tomato sauce, or vegetable dishes. What’s great is that because I do so much training, I can also eat a lot more.

Three products. Completely effective.

She lives out her passion, full of life.

What is your experience of RINGANA?

Natural care is totally in line with my philosophy. I tested the RINGANA SPORT products for the first  time when I did the last half Iron Man. I was won over not only by the effect but also by the natural taste. After training, I like to take the PACK energy as a drink.

What is your credo?

If you want something, you can do it. When I’m competing, I’ll always make it to the finish line, even if it’s on my hands and knees. Giving up isn’t an option. I love pushing my limits. It’s something that always keeps me motivated.
